Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Phasa LLC, a Wyoming (USA) limited liability company (“Phasa,” “we,” “us”), for your use of the Phasa website and app (“Phasa” or “the Service”). By using Phasa, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. We’ve kept them as plain as we can.
1. Who can use Phasa
You must be at least 13 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live, to use Phasa. If you’re under 18, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission. By using the Service you confirm you can form a binding agreement with us.
2. What Phasa is
Phasa is a tool for reading and studying Thai: a reader with a built-in dictionary, native-audio graded readings, sentence mining into spaced-repetition review, a script course, a tone trainer, and related study tools. We add new readings over time. Phasa is a learning tool — we hope it helps a great deal, but we can’t and don’t guarantee any particular result or level of fluency.
3. Open access and accounts
Open access. The dictionary and one sample reading per voice are open to everyone, with no account and no payment. You can read and look these up freely; you just can’t save progress without an account.
Accounts. To save your progress and use the full study tools, you create an account with your email. You’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. Tell us at hello@phasa.app if you think your account has been used without your permission.
4. Membership, the free trial, and billing
Free trial. New members can try the full membership free for 7 days. No card is required to start the trial. During the trial, your progress is saved as normal.
Plans and prices. After the trial, membership is offered as Monthly ($12 per month) or Annual ($9 per month, billed once a year as $108). Both plans give the same access; the annual plan simply costs less. Prices are in US dollars and may not include local taxes, which will be shown at checkout where applicable.
Founding-member rate. If you join as an early (“founding”) member, we intend to keep your rate for as long as you stay continuously subscribed. This is our thanks for being early, not a limited-time countdown.
Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel, so your access and progress continue without interruption.
Payments. We process payments through Stripe. When you subscribe, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your chosen payment method for the plan you select, including renewals, until you cancel. Phasa doesn’t store your full card number; Stripe handles it directly.
Cancelling. You can cancel any time from your account, in one step. When you cancel, your membership stays active until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and then it stops renewing. You won’t be charged again.
Pausing. If you need a break, you may be able to pause your subscription instead of cancelling, which freezes billing while keeping your saved data. Details are shown in your account.
Price changes. If we change prices, we’ll give current members reasonable notice before the change affects them, and you can cancel if you don’t want to continue at the new price.
Refunds. Because you can cancel any time to stop future charges, we generally don’t give refunds for time already subscribed. If something went genuinely wrong, email hello@phasa.app and we’ll try to make it right.
5. Your content
Some of what you create in Phasa — your notes, the sentences you mine, and any text you paste or upload to read — is your content. You keep ownership of it. You give us the limited permission we need to store and process it so we can provide the Service to you (for example, to segment a text you paste, or to save a word to your review deck). We don’t claim ownership of your content and we don’t use it to train models.
You’re responsible for the content you paste, upload, or create. Don’t use Phasa to process content you don’t have the right to use, or content that is illegal. Reading third-party text (for example, subtitles or web pages via our tools) is for your own personal study; you’re responsible for respecting the rights of whoever owns that material.
6. Our content and intellectual property
The readings, native audio, dictionary curation, artwork, software, and the overall design of Phasa are owned by Phasa LLC and the people who create for us, and are protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning while your access is active.
You agree not to copy, scrape, republish, resell, or redistribute our readings, audio, or dictionary data, and not to try to bypass the membership paywall or access premium content you haven’t paid for. Bulk or automated extraction of our content is not allowed.
7. Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse the Service. In particular, don’t: break the law with it; interfere with or attack the Service or its security; scrape or harvest content or data; resell or share your access; or use it in a way that harms other users or us.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Phasa running well, but we may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.
9. Disclaimers
Phasa is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of any kind, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Language learning depends on many things outside our control, and we don’t guarantee outcomes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Phasa LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you; nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Phasa and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms — for example, by scraping our content or bypassing the paywall. If we do, we’ll act reasonably and, where appropriate, let you know why.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we’ll update the date above and, for account holders, give notice by email or in the app. Continuing to use Phasa after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This doesn’t take away any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
